The Age of Aquarius

The Age of Aquarius

Changes of the Ages

My thoughts are constantly being drawn towards women;

Our evolutionary relationship to ourself, the earth and men.

To really understand women’s evolutionary relationship with self, each other and our families, we need to first understand the evolutionary relationship earth has with the universe.

We are in the transitional phase between the Piscean and Aquarian ages.

The ages of the Zodiac are an astrological age, which occurs because of a real motion of Earth. This movement is referred to as the precession of the equinoxes. The cycle of precession lasts 25,800 years with 12 constellations of the Zodiac. This means every 2,150 years give or take the sun’s position in the equinox moves in front of a new Zodiac constellation.

There are a few different opinions around when the age of Aquarius begun, but most experts agree we entered the Aquarian age in the last decade or so. In short, the March equinox point has moved from the Piscean constellation to the Aquarius constellation.

Astrology is a rather new topic for me in all disclosure.

I was never one to read my horoscope or know the traits of other star signs however the broader scale of this topic has got my attention since being exposed through my Kundalini yoga teacher training.

The way we are positioned in our solar system has a rather large impact on our energy.

Which makes sense if you reflect over the concept without getting too heady and critical with it. Consider how different you feel in winter vs summer and night vs day? When our location is closer to the sun our vitamin D levels are up which improves our immune and digestive systems, our energy lifts, we need less sleep and those lazy winter blues are nowhere to be seen.

The light of the sun shining through your bedroom window of a morning has the power to elevate cortisol in your body to wake you up whilst the dimness of the evening is a cue for your serotonin to be converted into melatonin to make you docile and sleepy.

So mind blowing how synergistic everything is.

Synonymously, the positioning of the sun in regard to the constellations of clusters of energy (stars) and our Earth can indeed have an impact on our body, especially considering you’re made up of the same matter as stars. Like attracts like. So based on this concept, the characteristics of the ages are vastly different.

The Piscean Age

The Piscean Age glorified destructive behaviours, power and possession. Women were exploited and the relationship between men and women was lacking in depth (generally speaking).

We sought God outside ourselves and adhered to doctrine.

The Aquarian Age

The Aquarian Age is about restoring balance. Humility and love. This age will find man and woman working together, the swing of matriarchy and patriarchy will be over as we deepen our union.

We will no longer find a partner based on sexual desire and familiar patterns (marrying our fathers so to speak). Our understanding that God breathes in us and is not separate to us will be the basis of spiritual practises in this age.

During the Piscean Age, women were predominantly exploited and treated as unequal.

Of course, some cultures respected and valued women, however the majority of our cultures in the past 2,000 odd years did not.

Let’s talk through what we have endured; we were told to cover our bodies, like the lustful thoughts of men were our responsibility to manage. And some religious groups continue this tradition today.

Women were only allowed in the lounge section of a Pub only a few decades ago and astoundingly, Australia was one of the first countries to allow women to vote, passing Nationally in 1902, America was as late as 1920 and Saudi Arabia suffrage was granted in 2015. Only a few years ago.

Suppression has a darker side than imposed clothing and segregation. Female genital mutilation is still rampant in Africa, Middle East and Asia where the World Health Organisation claim over 200 million girls and women alive today have been cut for non-medical purposes.

Mostly conducted on young girls aged from infancy to fifteen years.

Of course, this isn’t a blame game. Women have emasculated and manipulated men and used sex against them throughout time too. Women know how to play their strengths for darkness just as well as men…

However now we are entering an age of heightened awareness.

Men and women no longer need to battle it out, working our strengths for personal gain.

We need to create polarity. Not duality.

Our differences should support and nurture each other. We need to create a world where women aren’t trying to “live in a mans world” and drawing on too much masculine energy in the process of trying to succeed.

This is an exciting time to be alive.

The shift is taking place and we are waking up. We are breaking down old systems and learning new ways of being.

Women have a huge role to play in our new Earth.

Next week we will go into what we need to let go of to move forward, and not get left behind.

Big love xo
